BoMin Kim

"BoMin Kim connects her personal experiences with signs and symbols through the mediums of painting, drawing, and murals. To metaphorically express history, tradition, modernity, and emotions, she utilizes the context in a single landscape painting. She continues to experiment with and explore the possibilities of the mediums of paper, brush, and ink, traveling between the undiscovered past and the unreached future that she has yet to encounter.

She is a winner of Soorim Art Prize (Soorim Cultural Foundation, Seoul, Korea, 2023), the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (New York, USA, 2018) and Superior Prize of the Joongang Fine Arts Prize (Newspaper Joongang, Seoul, Korea, 2005). She also has been a recipient of the Visual Art Financial Support four times from Seoul Art & Culture Foundation. She participated in a number of residency programs, including SeMA Nanji Residency (Seoul, Korea, 2023), IAP (Incheon, Korea, 2021), MMCA (Goyang, Korea, 2020) and ARNA (Lund, Sweden, 2018). Currently, MMCA, SeMA, POSCO Art Museum, Microsoft Art Collection, and UBS Art Collection own some of her works."
